This is me then. I’m a start-up founder and freelance consultant. Photographer, music lover ♥️🔊, motorcycle fanatic, vivid reader and lifter of heavy things 🐘. Specialization is for insects.

This is one of my creative outlets. I read a lot and it seems to spawn a need to write as well. At one point I wanted to use this website to promote my work as an IT consultant, but over time it has morphed more towards something as undefinable as a “creative outlet”. I write 🖊, share and post the things I want and care about. This can be photography, motorcycles, books or whatever. I just have an urge to make some content no matter the audience or end goal.

I also have another website just to make things more complicated for myself jmreiche.github.io - there is even duplicated content. Originally the blog you are reading now was hosted on Wordpress and the github.io blog was my first endeavour into static websites. I grew so fond of the experience of writing markdown, checking in changes and publishing content as it reminded me of my developer career and was a workflow I was used to, that I decided to move this blog away from Wordpress. I never really liked the online editor of Wordpress, it was to reliant on the use of mouse and a bit cumbersome with image uploads.

Hence I decided to move this page to a static setup as well. Now it is powered by Hugo and hosted on Cloudflare pages and can give the same experience as my static github page. For now I have not really found a meaningful way of distinguishing between the two blogs, but perhaps over time I will.
